Scavenger
Understand what is still on your Mac
Writing code leaves things behind: projects, dependencies, package caches, conversations with agents. They all had a reason to be there, but a folder name does not always help you remember it. I am making Scavenger to make those files easier to understand before deciding what to do with them.
Begin with a project you know
Scavenger brings together recognized projects and dependencies, common package caches, and local records from supported agent tools. You can follow a project’s storage or look at what a particular tool has left behind. Opening the app does not start a scan. You choose when to begin and which locations to examine.
Leave room for what is unknown
Some locations cannot be read. Some formats are not supported yet. Some data belongs to several sessions at once. Scavenger calls out those gaps rather than treating them as empty space. File size is not a promise of recoverable space, either, especially with shared caches and APFS. I want those limits to be visible when you make a decision.
Decide before making a change
Analysis is local and read-only; scan results are not uploaded. For supported items, you select them, check the list, then confirm and authorize a move to the Trash. The app does not empty it for you. Scavenger is still in development. For now, I want to get the looking-and-checking part right, so tidying up involves less guesswork.
